Finding Hosts

Finding Hosts

Triangle travels with a company of 54: typically 1 Tour Manager, 1 Production Manager, 15 other technical staff, 16 orchestra members, 20 cast members and 1 adult chaperone.

Sleeping options can include

  • Single beds (1 person/bed)

  • Double/Queen/King beds (Up to 2 people/bed)

  • Couches

  • Air mattresses (we travel with some on the truck)

Please know that the students will not have any sleeping bags or bedding with them.

Here are links to each city's Google form to send out to your membership to help find hosts and a spreadsheet to track the responses:

Charlottesville, VA

Greenville, SC

Atlanta, GA

Palm Beach County, FL

Jacksonville, FL

Raleigh, NC

DC

NYC

If you'd like any changes made to the form, please let me know. You can send this link out as is and when they fill it out, it will populate the response spreadsheet with the information. I will make you an owner of your city's spreadsheet you we can all see the responses and make edits/notes as needed.

Post Show Timing

Post Show Timing

Students will be ready to head home with hosts after striking (breaking down) the set and loading the truck, approximately 2-2.5 hours after the show finishes. There will be a post-show reception on site for you to mingle and catch up with fellow alumni while waiting.

Morning Timing

Morning Timing

The following morning, the students will need to be dropped off at a central location. Location and timing will be confirmed once we know where all of the hosts live - once we know where all the hosts live, we will add a second pickup location as needed. If transporting the students is an issue (in either direction), you may send them via metro or Uber, but we ask that you please cover the cost of any transportation.

Feeding the Students

Feeding the Students

The students are often hungry at the end of the show and strike. Any snacks you might be able to provide would be appreciated. And please plan to provide a continental breakfast (bagels, fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, etc.) for the students in the morning, they'll be heading off for another busy day!

Pre-Show Student Meal

Please plan to provide the company with a meal prior to the evening's performance, typcially 2.5-3 hours before showtime.

Budget

Please plan on a budget of $750-1000 for this meal.

Food Allergy List

We will add a list of dietary restrictions to the link below as soon as it is available, but please plan to have vegetarian and gluten free options at a minimum.

Meal Ideas

Popular meals in the past have included "build your own" meals such as

  • Chipotle or other Mexican food

  • Mediterranean/Bowls

Or a variety of options

  • Italian - pasta with and without meat, salad with protein, etc.

  • Sandwich trays

Drinks can be as simple as water, iced tea, lemonade. The students don’t tend to be big soda drinkers.

Post-Show Reception

Typically we have a post-show reception (while the students strike the set and load the truck) which is open to everyone with snacks, soft drinks, etc. and some sort of a bar if possible. When appropriate, we provide (alcohol) drink tickets to the premium ticket buyers (1 per premium seat) as part of their “perks”. Venice & I will connect you with the venue to inquire about reception location & catering options as this is typically the simplest route to take.

Every venue has different rules around catering, alcohol, etc. Our team will help you navigate these details.

Some options for the bar in the past have been

  • Cash bar paid directly to the venue with drink tickets for the premium buyers, Triangle pays for any drink tickets used

  • Cash bar where Triangle sells drink tickets and patrons exchange them at the bar as payment

  • If a cash bar is not an option, we have a way to collect donations (both cash and through QR code) to off set the cost of the drinks

Please plan for a budget of $18-20 for HALF the number of SEATS SOLD for food, soft drinks, etc. Any alcohol will be separate, either as a cash bar or purchased and brought by the alumni association. Once we know the setup with the venue, we can sort out those details.
